Wow. Its been a while since the last time I go for a jog and get myself sweat. I recently feel alot of backpain and also on the neck. I thought lying on the bed will make me feel better but instead, it got worse. So just now I went for a jog and I felt really refreshing and more energetic! I think I want to take a few minutes daily to get my self sweat so that I can be more productive :)

Speaking of productivity, do you know that you can effectively decrease your website traffic(if you got a very good traffic).  Ireally think that this is beneficial for you if you already have a good steady traffic to your site, If You are just starting out, this is also an eyeopener :). So here you go, the three simple tips on decreasing your traffic with extensive effort!:-

  1. just read your blog and do not update until  the end of the month. If you are updating it, do not put heavy content. A few sentences would be nice :).  Putting a date counter on the page to show when it was last updated is lame. So don’t put it okay !
  2. just put to your blog and do not offer anything. If you have anything that can give value to your readers, scrap it! Your readers loves value. SO you need to get rid of it in order to flush away your traffic.
  3. Another thing is Opt in. I have said his again and again before. Putting an Opt in is totally unnecessary if you want to decrease your website traffic.  I saw many bloggers put special offers and anything similar in their blog. This is again, giving value to your customers.. they will come again and again to see the update. So bottom line is, its a bad idea…

I hope you enjoyed the tips and please stay healthy. Do not be like me.. I am a very bad example.. but at least I want to improve my self by going for a jog in the park. What about you? :)

7 important thnigs to consider when a guy next door wants to setup an online business.

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

They say everyone can start an online business. Even the guy next door (if you have neighbors :) ). Whatever we do, it is important to have a good business plan. It should show who the target audience is, and just how the product or service that is being provided will meet or exceed their needs and expectations.

When organizing a business plan it is best if you break it down into sections such as:-

1.    Business summary – The product or service you want to provide.

2.    Market analysis – Research on the product or service and how the competitors are doing.

3.    Product positioning – How to make it more prominent compared to your competitors.

4.    Market strategy – How are you actually going to market it?

5.    Customer analysis – Look at what the customer wants or needs.

6.    Financial analysis – What you need to invest in order to set up the business and to keep it going while it is just getting started.

7.    Overall business goals – What you hope to achieve in, say, a year’s time.

Once a business plan has been developed, it should not lay in the back of a drawer somewhere.  It should be a working plan that you can refer to when you need to. The best way to make a business plan is to keep it simple (one or two pages should be all you need). Certainly one of the best things you can do when starting an online business is to create a plan then stick with it.

Read the Blueverse’s Business plan, the 3 benefits that wasn’t told

Monday, March 10th, 2008

Creative Commons License photo credit: WorldIslandInfo.com

Ashon Rafiq from Blueverse.com wrote a really good post about how to do your business online or off line. The first thing that you need to do is to plan your business.

As for me, I found writing my plans gave me a few benefits. While there are a lot of benefits of writing your business plan, I can just come out witha few.. hey, I’m sleepy okay… I’ll share more in the future if I remember :P. The following are a few points that I can come up with..

You will discover valuable information about your business/niche/industry

Your in-depth research and planning will help you to have a more clear picture about the steps that you will take to achieve your goal. You will also discover the important information on how to improve your business in the long run. Jot them down and prioritize them.

You will know more about hidden information of your competitors.

Writing a detailed plan for your business forces you to assess your competitors. You will discover their strengths and weaknesses, which is a benefit for you to run your business.

You will gain more confidence

Once you have it all on paper, you will see a better picture of your long term goal. Visualise your success and this will help you to gain more confidence.

I really recommend Mark Joyner’s Simpleology to learn more about planning your business.
